Find Your Voice

What’s inside of you that’s longing to be heard?

There are parts of us that long to be known. Parts that want to be seen, heard, and given a place in the world.

Sometimes we recognize them as a creative impulse, a truth we’ve been holding back, or a vision we can’t stop thinking about. Other times, we simply sense that something inside us is trying to get our attention.

What if your voice is trying to tell you something?

I’ve come to understand voice as something much bigger than the sounds we make. Our voice is a part of us that we can develop a relationship with. Something we can listen to, learn from, and follow.

And perhaps finding our voice is something we spend our whole lives doing, gradually discovering more of who we are, what matters to us, and what we’re here to contribute.

I believe our voice is one of the most powerful vehicles we have for discovering our purpose, finding belonging, and bringing what’s inside us out into the world.

Find Your Voice is a private 90-minute exploration of that relationship. Together, we’ll listen for what’s wanting to be expressed, get curious about what’s been getting in the way, and explore what becomes possible when you begin to give your voice the attention it’s asking for. You bring your voice. I bring my ability to hear what’s possible.

Your voice needs you. And you need your voice.

Here’s what I’ve noticed after years of _____ TK ____ 20 years of studying and teaching voice is that most of us have had our voice shut down in one way or another.

And when I say voice, I’m talking about so much more than singing or speaking.

There is an incredible amount of vulnerability in sharing our voice—whether that’s our deepest ideas and thoughts or expressing physical sound. In speaking up for ourselves. In saying something we’ve hidden from others out loud. In owning the power of our inner wisdom.

We learn, through our experiences and relationships, what feels acceptable to express. What is welcomed, questioned, what is “worthy” of belonging, and often we just decide to keep our voice to ourselves.

And yet, those unexpressed parts of us don’t necessarily disappear.

Over time, we can become disconnected from parts of ourselves through the ways we’ve learned to use, withhold, or adapt our voice.

Your voice can also offer you a way back into relationship with those parts of yourself.

The things you’ve learned to hold back may still be asking for expression. And sometimes, it’s through the very act of giving them a voice that you begin to recognize them again.

They become an unwritten song... a conversation you keep rehearsing in your head... the creative vision that keeps calling you.

Often it’s just a feeling of unrest. Knowing there’s something inside of you that wants to come out but you don’t know exactly what it is supposed to be.

But something inside you wants to be known.

As a transformational coach and teacher I know your voice is the keeper of your truth. And even more importantly, your voice is a vehicle for bringing your truth into the physical world.

This is why the relationship between your inner and outer voice is so critical to your personal development.

Your voice can reveal something about how you’re experiencing yourself. And when you begin to listen to it, explore it, and give it room to express, you can discover things you didn’t know you knew.

Voice is reflective by nature.

Being able to voice your ideas, have someone truly hear you, and mirror that voice back to you can change what becomes available to you.

Sometimes another person hears a possibility in your voice that you haven’t yet recognized for yourself.

And this is the work we do in a Find Your Voice transformational session.

What is your voice asking of you?

Perhaps you want to speak up for yourself in a relationship, or finally give words to something you’ve been carrying for a long time.

Perhaps you’re an artist with a vision you can feel but haven’t quite found a way to bring into form. A musician wanting to express the emotional landscape of a song. A writer searching for the words that actually sound like you.

Maybe you’re creating a business, developing a body of work, or finding your way into a different kind of leadership.

Or perhaps you want to explore your physical voice. To understand why it responds the way it does, to discover more of its expressive possibilities, or to hear more of yourself in your sound.

And sometimes, you don’t know what you’re looking for yet. You just know there’s something there.

What happens when we work together?

In our 90-minute one-on-one session, I will guide you through a process that helps you get clear on what you’re struggling to articulate, express or change. We’ll work to shift or dissolve resistance that’s been keeping you stuck.

Clients who’ve done this work have experienced things like:

  • finding the courage to buy or start new businesses

  • leaving good but unfulfilling jobs to pursue long-held dreams

  • entering graduate programs

  • asserting themselves in their relationships

  • writing a book

  • surprising themselves with the sound and power of their own voice.

This is a transformational coaching session that blends several modalities, but have no fear: there’s no requirement to sing or make intentional sound. Some people are ready to explore that immediately; others need more time. We work with what is present, and you have a say in how we proceed.

The relationship we establish matters. Safety, consent, presence and attunement aren’t a warm-up before the ‘real’ work. They’re part of the conditions that allow the work to unfold, and we continue attending to them throughout our time together.

What you’ll leave with

This is a complete exploration in its own right.

You’ll leave with whatever discoveries and new perspectives emerge from our work, along with a personalized exercise or experiment designed around what we explored. It’s something you can continue investigating independently, in your own time and in your own way.

The point isn’t to solve every question about your voice in 90 minutes. It’s to give something your full attention, discover what’s possible, and begin creating ways to break through resistance, blocks, procrastination, and internal or external barriers to expressing yourself in the world.

Included in your session

  • One private 90-minute Find Your Voice session via Zoom

  • An individualized exploration that responds to your interests, questions and readiness

  • A personalized exercise or experiment to continue on your own

  • Our session recording, transcript, and any materials in a dedicated Google Drive folder

So that you can express the emotion inside of you.

So that you can sound like yourself.

So that you can give your project, your business, your art the voice it needs.

So that you can feel more confident in your artistic and creative choices, and more connected to a vision that is your own.

Those possibilities will look different for everyone. The work begins with your particular voice and the questions that matter to you.

What might become possible?

You do this work so that you can have the voice, and the life you want.
