The 1-Hour Alter Ego — Participant Workbook

How do you want to feel?

After the somatic practice, let whatever came up land here. This isn't a polished answer. It's a braindump — the felt sense of who is becoming, what wants to come forward.

Don't stop the pen. Don't edit. Let it be messy.

10:00
Ten minutes.
Let it move through you.

Your sensory map

Fill in what feels alive. You don't have to complete every bucket — let the ones that resonate get the most space. This is a living document, not a finished thing.

Clothing Capsule · Style

What does this version of you wear? A feeling, a quality, a piece that says something about who they are.

eg. a structured coat that makes you stand taller, linen in warm tones, something with weight to it

Scent Perfume · Environment · Element

What does their world smell like? Can be manufactured or completely natural — anything that puts you in this character's atmosphere.

eg. amber and sandalwood, pine needles and cold air, something citrus and clean, old books

Colours Palette · Tone · Atmosphere

Three to five tones that live in this character's world. Think artist's colour palette, or the light in a particular room or season.

eg. deep ochre, off-white, slate, forest, something burnished — not a mood board, just a felt sense

Taste / Food Character Detail · Ritual

What does this person eat or drink? Not a diet — a character detail. Specificity matters here more than anywhere.

eg. fresh market strawberries, black coffee no cream no sugar, dark chocolate, meals that take time to make

Activities Movement · Practice · Rhythm

What does this version of you do? Not aspirational — embodied. Things they do, or are drawn to, that belong to who they are.

eg. morning walks without earbuds, cooking slowly, reading before anything else, being in water, making things

Touch Texture · Material · Quality

Fabrics, textures, materials. What does this character like to touch — and what do they want around them?

eg. cotton sheets, rough stone, smooth worn wood, something tactile and grounding, natural fibres

Voice Quality · Pace · Tone

Not the words — the quality. Pace, warmth, steadiness. What does this character sound like when they speak or sing?

eg. unhurried, goes quiet instead of rushing to fill space, warm but not soft, speaks less than expected — and it lands

Sounds / Music Playlist · Soundscape · Environment

Playlist, soundscape, or the sounds of an environment. What does this character listen to, or what does their world sound like?

eg. ambient and instrumental, something with build and space, the sound of a particular room or landscape, rain on stone

Activation

Before you write — if there's something near you that connects to this character, go get it. A piece of clothing. A scent. A food. Something with a texture. A song you can play right now. Bring one element of this map into the room with you.

Pause here

Take two minutes and gather one thing. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just something that belongs to this version of you.

Now write from inside this character. Not to them — as them.

This is your activation statement — a grounding message that brings you back into this version of yourself whenever you need it. It can be one word. It can be a paragraph. Let it be whatever length it needs to be.

Keep what you built

Your map lives here. Copy it all to your clipboard, save as PDF, or print it — however it's easiest to keep close.

Copied — your map is on the clipboard.
